Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis of Lipids: We have developed a complete software platform, LipidQA, for lipid identification and quantitation based on the ESI-MS data. It achieves accurate, fast quantitation by utilizing a high precision deisotoping algorithm for isotope correction. It automatically calculates internal standard normalization, standard curve regression, and phosphate content calibration. By integrating the power of data-dependent MS, simultaneous identification and quantitaton of complicated lipid mixtures containing different classes of lipid can be quickly realized. The program supports multiple internal standards (for different lipid subclasses) and standard curves in one analysis. It can automatically select internal standard and standard curves according the lipid identified from MS/MS data. A Web-based version is being tested locally with the goal of making it available to all lipid researchers once its robustness is demonstrated.
